We have an exciting opportunity to join our Actuarial team as a Principal Analyst on a full-time and permanent basis!

Our Actuarial teams handle risk on a billion-pound scale. By leveraging a wide range of skills, tools, and information, they assess the risk involved in policies and potential claims. We use market-leading techniques to maximize profitability and support the growth of some of the UK's most recognizable brands.

What you'll be doing:

You will be part of our SME Squad, providing actuarial technical expertise, analysis, and recommendations to support Reserving, Capital Modelling, Forecasting, Monitoring, and related business decisions.

You will also:

  • Plan, manage, and deliver tasks and projects, providing insights and recommendations; lead specialized investigations, produce reports, and contribute to presentations for internal partners.
  • Research and develop models for reserving or other purposes, ensuring the use of appropriate techniques and data, and maintaining quality, documentation, and verifiability.
  • Review analyses prepared by Analysts in the SME Squad and propose reasoned, viable outcomes to Category managers.
  • Identify areas for improvement and demonstrate awareness of team requirements to enhance modeling and data processes.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant professional, legal, regulatory, and risk management frameworks such as Technical Actuarial Standards, IPL, SOX, PRAIS, SII, and UK GAAP.
What we're looking for:
  • Nearly or newly qualified actuary
  • Experience in Reserving and Capital Modelling
  • Programming skills in SQL and R; experience with reserving and capital software is desirable
  • An excellent problem solver comfortable working independently
