Job description

About The Scheme

At NFU Mutual, we’re offering an exciting opportunity to kickstart your actuarial career with our Actuarial Trainee Scheme. This scheme provides hands-on experience, including exposure to financial services and general insurance across teams such as reserving & financial modelling, systems & services, and profitability & pricing. You will collect, analyze, and interpret data, working closely with various teams to support business decisions.

The purpose of our actuarial teams is to ensure NFU Mutual remains financially robust and capable of providing excellent service. Actuaries help assess and manage risks, set pricing, and maintain financial stability, supporting strategies across life policies, general insurance, and reserve management.

As an Actuarial Trainee, you will support activities like designing models, investigating data anomalies, and communicating insights. The scheme supports your journey to becoming a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), offering structured learning, study days, mentoring, funding for exams, and access to study resources. You will gain valuable experience, be part of the IFoA network, and receive personalized guidance through mentorship. As you pass exams, you will receive incremental pay increases and rewards.

  • Clear Development Path: Receive on-the-job coaching and support to grow your skills.
  • Study and Exam Support: Benefit from paid study days, mentoring, and resources to help you pass actuarial exams.
