Job summary

RGA is seeking an actuarial professional to join the UK Actuarial Research team, leading pricing and valuation assumptions across UK lines such as Term, Whole Life, CI and Longevity products. The role focuses on building and monitoring best-estimate bases and advancing automation with AI and cloud tools.

The ideal candidate is nearly or newly qualified, with 3+ years in actuarial work, a numerical degree (2.1+), and strong analytics.

Qualifications

Actuarial concepts underpinning mortality, morbidity and persistency studies.
Knowledge of the UK insurance marketplace including Life, Critical Illness and Annuity products.
Ability to work with minimal guidance and deliver responsibilities using available resources.
Advanced investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Excel proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of statistics and statistical modelling.
Programming experience to improve processes and create tools.
Team-oriented with good communication and collaboration.
Effective time management and prioritisation of tasks.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Develop best-estimate pricing and valuation assumptions for UK lines of business (Term, Whole of Life, CI, Longevity, Impaired Life).
Monitor and review bases regularly; drive process improvements and automation (AI, cloud tools).
Contribute to mortality/morbidity/persistency models and predictive modelling in the UK market.
Support marketing and industry engagement through seminars, working parties, and client interactions.
Contribute to internal committees and ensure UK developments are shared globally.
