Job summary

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) invites applications for a Project Director to strengthen the Actuarial Regulation Team in Birmingham. You will work with senior colleagues to deliver the annual strategy, shaping UK actuarial standards for pensions and monitoring their impact.

Candidates should bring Fellow of the IFoA status, extensive regulatory experience, and strong modelling, communication and leadership skills for high‑impact work in a hybrid, office‑based role.

Qualifications

• Fellow of the IFoA with significant post-qualification experience.
• Experience in regulation, supervision and/or a former practitioner.
• Senior level background in consulting, in-house, management or regulatory roles.
• Strong understanding of what drives high quality actuarial work.

Responsibilities

• Developing the technical actuarial standards and pension illustrations in the UK.
• Assessing the effectiveness of the technical actuarial standards through monitoring.
• Providing actuarial expertise to the wider FRC, e.g., disciplinary cases and audit quality oversight.
• Engaging credibly with senior actuarial practitioners and stakeholders; leading timely delivery.
