Job summary

Willis Re in London is seeking an experienced Property Reinsurance Pricing Actuary to join our Analytics team. You will deliver pricing insight across Property Risk XL, Catastrophe XL, Retrocession and ILW, and help develop tools and methodologies for reinsurance placements and client strategy.

This role requires strong actuarial credentials, deep expertise in property and catastrophe pricing, and a track record in developing analytical frameworks within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuary (FIA/FCAS or equivalent).
• Strong reinsurance pricing experience, ideally in the London Market.
• Deep expertise in Property Risk XL and Catastrophe XL.
• Strong understanding of catastrophe modelling and portfolio analytics.
• Experience supporting treaty reinsurance programme design and pricing.
• Proven ability to develop analytical tools, methodologies or pricing frameworks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
• Commercially minded, innovative and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing and portfolio analytics for Property Risk XL, Catastrophe XL, Retrocession and ILW business.
• Apply experience, exposure and catastrophe modelling techniques to assess risk and pricing adequacy.
• Evaluate treaty structures including attachments, limits, reinstatements, hours clauses and aggregate features.
• Provide insight on catastrophe model output, model uncertainty and non-modelled exposures.
• Support the design and optimisation of reinsurance programmes, including aggregate, multi-year and capital-efficient structures.
• Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for brokers, clients and reinsurers.
• Develop and enhance pricing tools, methodologies and analytical capabilities.
• Contribute to thought leadership and support the development of junior colleagues.
• Leverage automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve analytics and workflow efficiency.

The Role

We are looking for a Property Reinsurance Pricing Actuary to join our growing Analytics team in London.

Working closely with Brokers, Clients and Analytics colleagues, you will deliver pricing insight across Property Risk XL, Catastrophe XL, Retrocession and ILW business. You'll help develop the tools, methodologies and analytical capabilities that support reinsurance placements, portfolio optimisation and client strategy.

This is an opportunity for a technically strong actuary to combine pricing expertise, catastrophe modelling knowledge and commercial insight in a highly visible role at the heart of the treaty reinsurance market.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Igloo or other stochastic pricing and capital modelling platforms.

• Engineering or Terrorism treaty reinsurance experience.
• Practical application of Generative AI within actuarial or analytical workflows.
