Job Description:

We’re recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to join the Retail Division on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. We’re offering you the opportunity to support the Retail Annuities Finance team in driving the profitability of the Retail Annuities business across the full range of financial metrics, including financial planning, management, control, and supporting commercial decisions.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting the Head of Retail Annuities and the Senior Finance Business Partner in understanding the key drivers of financial performance and working with the Retail Annuities business to leverage insights and promote management actions.
• Establishing and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across Retail Annuities, L&G Retail, and the wider Group, supporting strategic decisions and assessing financial implications. Collaborate with the LGRI Business Partnering team for consistency of financial metrics where appropriate.
• Supporting the development of the financial plan for the Retail Annuity business across all financial metrics (including IFRS, New Business, In-force Value, Solvency II, cash, expenses, sales).
• Assisting in understanding financial reporting for the Retail Annuity business, focusing on IFRS 17 and Solvency II.
• Remaining updated on regulations, standards, and Group requirements impacting Retail Annuities, assessing financial impacts of changes, and managing outcomes.
• Ensuring all activities consider the fair treatment of customers (TCF).

• Supporting understanding of financial performance drivers and leveraging insights for management actions.
• Building strong relationships across functions and supporting strategic and financial decisions.
• Developing financial plans and supporting financial reporting, especially regarding IFRS 17 and Solvency II.
• Monitoring regulatory, accounting, and group requirements to manage financial outcomes.
• Ensuring all activities uphold fair treatment of customers (TCF).

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

• A Qualified Actuary, ideally with post-qualification experience.
• Understanding of IFRS, SII results, and internal KPIs.
• Knowledge of the Retail Annuities market, products, distribution, operations, and competition.
• Familiarity with L&G’s financial processes, systems, structure, and governance.
• Understanding of risk management and how to support risk controls.
• Experience with planning and forecasting cycles.
• A motivated self-starter eager to improve insights, processes, and value.
• Strong influencing skills and stakeholder management.
• Effective communication skills adaptable to different audiences.
