Job summary

Orange Malone in Manchester is seeking an Actuarial Director to lead the Consulting and Actuarial team. The role focuses on strategic client relationships, delivering tailored pension and employee benefits advice, and shaping fee structures.

The successful candidate will drive business development, manage staff, and contribute to growth in a supportive, expanding consultancy within the North West. Hybrid working from Manchester hub is available.

Qualifications

• Experienced Actuary with expert knowledge of the UK Actuarial and DB Pensions market.
• Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA).
• Strong awareness of the industry landscape, including competitor businesses and services.
• Previous people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Strategically manage client relationships — overseeing delivery of work, implementing client advice and agreeing fee structures.
• Drive business development — contributing to business plan development, building a client portfolio and identifying new business opportunities.
• Manage staff — setting targets for direct reports, supporting recruitment and retention, and helping develop the wider team.
