A leading non-profit organization is seeking an Activity Support Worker to plan and lead stimulating activities for older people in their Extra Care Services. This role involves facilitating social inclusion and promoting well-being through creative and engaging activities. Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced in working with diverse needs, contributing to a supportive team environment.
Creative Support is a non-profit organisation which provides high quality person-centred social care services for people with learning disabilities, mental health and other needs.
We have an exciting opportunity available for an Activity Support Worker to initiate, plan and provide enjoyable and stimulating group and one to one activities based on the identified needs, interests and preferences of older people living in our Extra Care Services in Tower Hamlets. You will facilitate social inclusion and community links and to promote their physical and mental wellbeing, confidence and independence.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to facilitate and work with people in groups and experience of working with people with dementia, a learning disability, people with mental health needs, autism and people with physical disabilities would be an advantage. The role involves writing reports and creating promotional materials such as posters and newsletters to showcase ongoing activities so proficiency in Microsoft Word and similar software is desirable.
We are looking for enthusiastic, resourceful and energetic individuals who are well motivated, hardworking and keen to join our friendly team. You will demonstrate the values that are essential for a role of this nature such as warmth, compassion and unconditional positive regard along with the ability to work flexibly (this may include evenings and weekends). A willingness to travel between services within Tower Hamlets is essential.
