Job summary

Optalis is recruiting for Activity Support Organisers to work across Wokingham & Woodley day services. Roles involve supporting individuals to access learning and leisure activities with company vehicles, ensuring person-centred care and safety throughout the day.

Hours are 08.30–16.30, with various locations in Wokingham & Woodley. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be over 25 for insurance, with DBS check required.

• Provide support to individuals to access local learning and leisure facilities using company vehicles.
• Assist with personal care and emotional support as required.
• Support individuals to achieve personal goals through person-centred approaches.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to access local learning and leisure activities using Optalis vehicles.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal care and emotional support.
• Lead and participate in group activities and one-to-one sessions aligned to interests.
• Maintain safety, dignity and privacy during day services.
• Ensure compliance with DBS checks and right-to-work requirements.

Activity Support Organisers – Community Lives Day Services Wokingham & Woodley

Hours 08.30 – 4.30pm £24,791.39 FTE £12.85 per hour

Our day services offer specialist support, a safe and friendly environment with experienced staff, dedicated to supporting people to achieve their personal goals.

We have opportunities at the following locations -

• Matthewsgreen, Wokingham (Part time Mon, Tues and Wed weekly)
• Acorn Centre, Wokingham (Full time 37 hours)
• Woodford Park, Woodley (Full time 37 hours)

These services provide plenty of opportunities to mix with other people, visit different places and learn new things. With our services designed to meet different needs and interests every day of the week. The focus is on helping the people we support meet their personal goals through person-centred support.

The teams help with all support needs, from medication to personal care or emotional support, so that everyone feels safe and comfortable.

We take time to understand what matters to each person, so they feel known, valued and supported throughout the day.

The services provide day support, offering one-to-one and group activities at a pace that suits, and tailored to people’s interests and abilities, including:

• Cognitive stimulation therapy
• Quizzes and crosswords
• Gardening
• Arts and crafts
• Keep fit and seated exercise
• Singing for pleasure
• Reminiscence/life history
• Table games, cards and bingo
• Themed activity days
• Cookery

The posts involve supporting individuals to access local learning and leisure facilities using our vehicles and therefore you will need to be a full UK driving licence holder and over 25 years of age to comply with our insurance.
