Qualifications

• GCSE grade A*-C/9-4 in English and Maths or equivalent required.
• Desirable to have a Degree in Sport or equivalent.
• Desirable to have A Level 2 Coaching qualification or qualification in Youth Work.
• Extensive experience as a Sports Practitioner or Coach required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and offer a robust and inclusive engagement programme.
• Contribute to the wider personal development programme across the Group.
• Identify gaps in provision and develop new opportunities in response to Student Voice.
• Support the embedding of key values such as sustainability, inclusion, and community involvement.
• Collaborate with other staff to ensure a joined-up approach to student wellbeing.

Activity Leader (Sport)

Location: Wakefield College

Salary: £26,967 - £28,609 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Weeks: 52 weeks per year

We have an exciting opportunity for an Activity Leader in Sport to join a friendly, supportive, and positive Student Experience team. The role is varied with lots of opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and offer a robust and inclusive engagement programme to provide opportunities for all learners to participate (including non-sporting activities)
• Contribute to the wider personal development programme across the Group and support the development of wider skills and improved wellbeing through activity.
• Identify gaps in provision, and develop new opportunities in response to Student Voice and external trends.
• Support the embedding of key values such as sustainability, inclusion and community involvement.
• Collaborate with other Student Experience staff to ensure a joined-up approach to student wellbeing

Requirements / Qualifications

• GCSE grade A*-C/9-4 in English and Maths or equivalent
• A Degree in Sport or equivalent professional qualification is desirable, but not essential
• A Level 2 Coaching qualification, or a qualification in Youth Work is desirable, but not essential
• Extensive experience as a Sports Practitioner or Coach
