Overview

Vibrant, Energetic Activities Coordinator Sought to Join Innovative Senior Center Team

Full Time

Monday-Friday

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Senior LIFE is an innovative home and community-based Medicare and Medicaid funded program which provides all-inclusive healthcare services and support to seniors living in the community. Our team is committed to partnering with our seniors to remain at home through promoting open communication and shared decision making while providing excellent care and services.

Responsibilities

The Activities Coordinator must oversee a number of key responsibilities, including:

  • Administering all activities functions as they relate to group and individual Plans of Care for Senior LIFE
  • Supervising and training activities staff
  • Managing all activities-based project assignments, including program execution on time and on budget
  • Developing and executing therapeutic programs, centering on social and recreational activities, always keeping focused on the unique needs of the center’s elderly population
  • Ensuring a safe, positive environment for all members as well as activities department staff
  • Ensuring activities staff alignment with the interdisciplinary care plan approach, while serving as a key voice on these larger teams
  • Providing individualized support and assistance for members requiring additional care during activities and programming
  • Ongoing inspection and audits for activities, recreational spaces and equipment, ensuring compliance with all center, state and federal mandates
Qualifications

Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience in a social or recreational role that specifically centers on the elderly community. Strong communication skills as well as an ability to thrive and inspire in a team-based setting are key to this role. An ability to organize, prioritize, and effectively implement new practices and procedures and a desire to effect positive change within an underserved community are also essential characteristics Senior LIFE looks for in this role.

Since some travel to members' homes is required, a valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation is also mandatory.
