Job description

As an Activities Coordinator at the Meadows, you’ll help to create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all-round care and support for people who use our services. Your role would help to provide high quality, caring service that makes a positive and effective contribution to the care pathway of people admitted onto the wards in the acute phase of their illness.

This role is to complement the nursing team in planning, designing, organising, and running leisure and meaningful engagement activities considering the needs and interests of individual members and to support, challenge, and enhance the psychological, spiritual, social, and emotional wellbeing of individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Organise, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities in an inclusive, stimulating, and safe environment.
  2. Ascertain and interpret group interests, evaluate equipment and facilities, and adapt activities to meet individual participant needs.
  3. Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in recreational activities, and demonstrate use of materials and equipment.
  4. Develop positive relationships with participants.
  5. Adopt a pragmatic and non-judgmental approach.
  6. Provide structured opportunities for people to relax and socialise.
About Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust:

We are the leading provider of health and social care services for people of all ages with mental ill-health and learning disabilities in Surrey and North East Hampshire. We also provide social care services for people with a learning disability in Croydon and ASD and ADHD assessment services in Hampshire.

We actively seek to engage people who use our services and our communities in improving mental wellbeing. We work closely with NHS and voluntary sector organisations to support service users and carers.

Location Benefits:

Surrey is a beautiful county just 30 minutes from Central London and the South Coast, with historic market towns, countryside, and excellent transport links, including nearby Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

Please note: We reserve the right to close posts once sufficient applications are received. Eligibility for high-cost area supplement depends on residence and will be discussed upon offer.
