Job summary

Priory Hospital Woodbourne is seeking an Activity Coordinator on a part-time basis (12 hours per week) to support patient wellbeing and recovery. You’ll assist qualified staff with care plans, deliver activities, and help create a structured, safe daily routine.

You will engage patients in 1:1 and group sessions, assess risks, and help plan weekly timetables aligned with individual goals. Strong communication and empathy are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, observational and listening skills are essential.
  • Ability to engage effectively with staff, patients and visitors.

Priory Hospital Woodbourne is looking to recruit a Activity coordinator to join the team. This is a part-time role of 12 hours a week.

Department: Site Support Roles

Location: Priory Hospital Woodbourne

Compensation: £8,416 / year

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

  • Deliver meaningful 1:1 and group activities to enhance patient’s wellbeing, independence, community participation and quality of life in line with prescribed care plans (including OT care plans) and risk assessments.
  • Undertake risk assessment of activities in discussion with senior colleagues and line manager.
  • Create weekly activity timetables that provide both structure and flexibility for patients within an inpatient hospital. Activities should support cognitive, physical, and emotional needs, align with patients individualised recovery goals and focus on meaningful leisure, recreational and social activities.
  • Planned activities will compliment those therapeutic activities encompassed within a patients care. Therapy remains a priority of engagement.

The role requires the ability to engage effectively with individuals and confidently present or deliver sessions in a group setting. Strong communication, observational, and listening skills are essential, as the position involves regular interaction with staff, patients, and visitors, as well as the exchange of information to support patient assessment and care. The role is based across hospital grounds and within the local community, and flexibility is required as working hours may include evenings and weekends in addition to weekdays.
