Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Activity Co-ordinator to join our team on AAU!

Activity Co-ordinators hold a key role across our wards and services, providing vital care and support to our service users through social and therapeutic activities. Their contribution is crucial for the effective running of our services, making them a key part of the team.

You may be required to undertake and complete the national Care Certificate within 12 weeks if you meet our criteria. We provide full training and support. The Care Certificate covers 15 national care standards, demonstrating the skills and knowledge needed to deliver safe, high-quality care. It is a foundation for career development within the NHS.

Key aspects of the role include:

  1. The provision and coordination of meaningful group and activity sessions for service users.
  2. The development of individual activities and support to enable engagement.
  3. Offering group sessions focused on skill development, social inclusion, communication, education, and recovery.
  4. Collaborating with Nursing and Occupational Therapy teams.
  5. Supporting service users in regaining confidence and skills for successful community reintegration.
  6. Inspiring hope and belief in recovery.
  7. Facilitating information sharing to promote choice, self-determination, and community connection.
  8. Promoting the role within the ward and wider care setting.
