A community support organization in Farnborough seeks individuals to assist in delivering activities for young carers aged 7-25. Responsibilities include helping with club sessions, organizing trips, and providing support to young individuals who are caregivers. This role promotes engagement and participation while ensuring a safe and fun environment. No specific qualifications are required, but a passion for helping others is essential.
Hart & Rushmoor Young Carers is a Hart Voluntary Action service offering emotional support and respite to anyone aged 7-25 years living in Hart and Rushmoor who cares, unpaid, for a family member who is ill, disabled, has a mental health condition or an addiction. The service provides a range of free activities, including fortnightly, term-time evening clubs for five age groups — School Years 3-5, Year 6, Years 7-8, Years 9-10, and Young Adult Carers (YACs) aged 15-25 — as well as trips, residentials and school holiday activities, and targeted programmes such as Cook & Eat and regular swimming sessions. Older members also benefit from 1:1 support and access to Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Young Leader Programmes. All activities are focused on the young carers having fun, connecting with others in similar situations, and receiving respite from their caring responsibilities, while also helping them to build confidence, develop new skills and feel supported. Community transport is available to reduce access barriers, and all food and activities are free of charge. The service is shaped by young carers themselves, through regular feedback and a dedicated Young Carers Board, and supported by volunteers, some of whom are young carers too, ensuring it remains responsive and inclusive.
