Job summary

Handsale Ltd is seeking an Activities & Wellbeing Facilitator for a part-time role (24 hrs/week) in a care home. The role involves planning monthly and individual activity programmes, encouraging resident engagement, and supporting social activities on weekends as per rota.

Key duties include coordinating events, maintaining activity records, liaising with staff and families, and contributing to a positive, inclusive atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working with the relevant Resident group.
  • Qualification in remedial / occupational therapies.
  • Flexible approach towards working routines.
  • Satisfactory DBS / pre-employment checks.
  • Proven ability to develop and organise a range of events / activities for Residents in all Resident categories.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Positive, upbeat personality.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Friendly, creative and confident.
  • Genuine interest in working with the relevant Resident group.

Responsibilities

  • Help Residents to socialise within the Care home, and provide a variety of activities that cater for all tastes.

  • Encourage staff members, relatives and friends to participate in the care home's activities.
  • Accompany Residents, where possible, to off site activities.
  • Help to create an atmosphere that suits individual Residents within the care home.
  • Assist with fund raising, and budgeting, for entertainments, materials and outings.
  • Maintain full and accurate records of daily activities using appropriate documentation, and assist the Named Carer to review and update Resident Care Files.
  • Discuss the aims and objectives of recreation therapy with other Staff Members.
  • Report any changes in Residents' physical or emotional condition to the Home Manager or Person in Charge.
  • Provide comfort and company, on a one to one basis, for Residents who are unable to undertake any form of activity.
  • Arrange / participate in Staff and Resident meetings, as and when required.
  • Actively market the care home and promote a positive personal / professional profile within the local community, ensuring the good reputation of the care home at all times.
  • Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Activities & Wellbeing Facilitator to join our team to work part-time hours 24 hrs/week.

The shifts would involve working on alternate weekends (depending on ROTA).

Help Residents to socialise within the Care home, and provide a variety of activities that cater for all tastes.

Plan and initiate monthly rolling / individual programmes, and encourage Residents to maintain pre- existing hobbies.

Activities & Wellbeing Facilitator will encourage staff members, relatives and friends to participate in the care home's activities.

Accompany Residents, where possible, to off site activities.

Help to create an atmosphere that suits individual Residents within the care home.

Maintain full and accurate records of daily activities using appropriate documentation, and assist the Named Carer to review and update Resident Care Files.

Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Resident, colleague, self or another.

Understand and ensure the implementation of the Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.

To promote safe working practice in the Care home
