Job description

Location:Glencorse Care Home,Penicuik,Edinburgh & Lothian,EH26 0FZ

Located in the heart of the Greenlaw Mains community, Glencorse Care Home is a brand-new, purpose-built luxury care home opening soon. With 54 beautifully designed en suite bedrooms, it will provide exceptional Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care in a warm and welcoming setting.

We are now looking for a creative, enthusiastic Activities Lead to join our commissioning team. This is a unique opportunity to shape a meaningful and engaging activities programme from the very start — helping to build a joyful, inclusive home where residents can thrive physically, emotionally, and socially.

What We Offer:

  • £13.52 per hour
  • Full time contract
  • Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided, free onsite parking
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
  • The opportunity to help shape the culture and lifestyle of a brand-new care home

What You Will Do:
As Activities Lead, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a varied programme of individual and group activities that promote wellbeing, purpose, and enjoyment. You will work closely with the Home Manager, residents, families, and the wider care team to ensure activities reflect each resident’s preferences, abilities, and life story.

You’ll organise social events, lead daily engagement sessions, support residents to maintain hobbies, and introduce new, creative ideas that bring joy to everyday life. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of participation and outcomes, helping us continuously improve what we offer.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience planning and leading engaging events or activities, ideally in a care or community setting
  • A warm, creative, and confident personality with a passion for working with older people
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and bring new ideas to life
  • A positive, person-centred approach that reflects our values
