Job summary

Leonard Cheshire is seeking a compassionate Activities Worker at Bradbury House in the North East region. The role is part-time, 26 hours per week, with some evening and weekend work.

You will plan and deliver social activities, support residents to explore hobbies, and accompany outings as needed. Benefits include holiday entitlement, pay advances, discounts, pension, health plan, DBS check, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities or social care roles, supporting people with disabilities.
• Level 2 Activities qualification (or working towards) advantageous.
• Full, clean driving licence if driving is required.
• Flexible, creative, and compassionate approach.
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and deliver social and recreational activities that enhance daily living
• Support customers to explore new hobbies, interests, and outings
• Act as escort/driver for outings when required
• Work with volunteers and other team members to ensure inclusive, person-centred experiences
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
• Promote independence, choice, and wellbeing for each customer
