Activities Coordinator - Belleaire - 25 hours week, Inverclyde

Our friendly team at Meallmore is looking for a part-time Activities Coordinator to join Belleaire House Care Home. Overlooking the picturesque town of Greenock and River Clyde, Belleaire House is set within an impressive Victorian Mansion, only 40 minutes from Glasgow. The home features fully-furnished ensuite rooms, modern safety standards, and provides exceptional care to frail, elderly residents and those living with dementia.

Role Overview

The Activities Coordinator will plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities for residents, tailored to their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social needs.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a diverse range of activities catering to residents' needs.
  2. Coordinate group activities such as arts and crafts, games, music sessions, exercise classes, outings, and social events.
  3. Identify residents' interests and limitations to personalize activities.
  4. Collaborate with care teams and families in planning activities.
  5. Source and manage external entertainers, performers, and volunteers.
  6. Ensure a safe, inclusive environment during activities, providing necessary support.
  7. Maintain records of participation and feedback for families and regulatory bodies.
Skills and Requirements
  1. Experience in planning activities for older adults, preferably in a care setting.
  2. Knowledge of person-centered care and cognitive impairments like dementia.
  3. Creativity, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills.
  4. Organizational skills for managing schedules and resources.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with teams and families.
