Role:Activities Coordinator
Location: Winnersh
Contract: Permanent, 21 hours per week

Rota: 09:00-16:30 Week 1 Mon, Tues, Wed Week 2 Tues, Sat, Sun

About the Role:
As an Activities Coordinator at Abbeyfield, you’ll play a vital role in promoting the social and mental well-being of our residents. You’ll create and deliver a diverse program of activities tailored to their unique needs, interests and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging activities that foster connection, joy, and purpose.
  • Work closely with residents to understand their interests and incorporate their ideas into the activity planning process.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, using their life stories and experiences to develop personally relevant activities.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure activities run smoothly, sourcing supplies, and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity plans.

About You:
We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and creative in planning engaging activities.
  • Empathetic and understanding of the needs of older people, including those with dementia.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to build rapport and foster relationships.
  • Patient, calm, and tactful in sensitive situations.
  • A supportive team player with a passion for making a difference in people’s lives.
