Job summary

Bosworth Care Home in Weymouth is seeking an Activities Coordinator to join our friendly team on a 30-hour week, Monday to Friday. You’ll design engaging activities, support resident wellbeing, and help organise events for our residents.

Qualifications

• 12 months remaining right to work in the UK; skilled or student visas not accepted.
• Care home/activities experience required.
• Compassionate, reliable and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design engaging activities plans for residents.
• Plan and support events like summer BBQs or Christmas parties.
• Engage with residents to identify desired activities.
• Coordinate with external entertainers or businesses.
• Support mobility and independence through activity-based sessions.
• Provide team support and shadowing for new staff.

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning – our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
• Resident interaction – you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications – as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
• Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
• Team support - helping new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork, and supporting the smooth running of the home when required

• A minimum of 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK, please note: Under new guidance we are unable to accept skilled or student visas
• Caring, positive, and reliable individuals
• Previous care home/activities experience required
