Cornerstone Healthcare Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Activities Coordinator for The Burren in Bristol. You will design and run engaging activities for residents with complex needs, while ensuring welfare and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year UK experience in a similar setting (essential)
• Positive attitude to residents and commitment to provide stimulating activities
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team, forming positive relationships with colleagues, residents and families
• Experience with residents who have additional support needs (essential)
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

• Plan, organise and coordinate activities for residents according to their needs, interests and abilities
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of residents
• Support residents and encourage participation in activities
• Keep appropriate records of activities and assessment forms
• Liaise with external companies and performers to organise days out/events at the home
• Work within agreed activities budget

Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for an experienced and passionate Activities Coordinator to join our award-winning team at The Burren. The Burren is a brand-new purpose-built service location South Bristol, providing high quality care &supporting residents with varying complex neurological, mental health & dementia care needs provided in a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole persons unique strengths and challenges, rather than just the diagnosis.

What do you need?

• Minimum of 1 years' experience working in a similar setting within the UK (essential)
• Positive attitude to residents and a commitment to provide stimulating, quality activities
• Ability to work alone as well as a team and be able to form positive relationships with colleagues, residents and families
• Experience of working with residents who have additional support needs (essential)
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

What hours will you work?

Shift times: 09:30am until 18:00pm

You will work 5 shifts across a 7 day week. Weekend work is required.

42 hours per week (unpaid breaks)

What will you be doing?

• Plan, organise and coordinate activities for residents according to their needs, interests and abilities

Cornerstone Healthcareprovide specialist care for vulnerable people who present with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs.

Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.

We currently have 4 services based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, Bristol & Mytchett.
