Job summary

Bowood Court Care Home is seeking an Activities Coordinator to enhance residents' wellbeing by delivering engaging, person-centred activities in a supportive care environment. The role involves planning group and one-to-one sessions tailored to residents' interests and abilities, working closely with families and colleagues to promote independence and social interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities for residents.
  • Deliver activities safely by following health and safety and risk assessment procedures.
  • Maintain accurate activity records and adapt programmes as residents' needs change.
  • Encourage participation, support hobbies, and organise seasonal events and outings.
  • Work alternate weekends as part of a collaborative care team.

Bowood Court & Mews Care Home is a modern residential, dementia and respite care home in Redditch, Worcestershire. With beautifully designed living spaces, sensory gardens and a vibrant programme of activities, our dedicated team creates a welcoming environment where residents are supported to enjoy every day.

  • £12.85 per hour
  • Contracted to 22 hours per week
  • Paid DBS, pension and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

Role Overview As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing residents' wellbeing by delivering engaging, meaningful and person-centred activities that promote independence, choice and social interaction.

You will plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities and life experiences. Working closely with residents, families and colleagues, you will encourage participation, support hobbies, organise seasonal events, outings and community activities, helping residents remain active, connected and engaged.

You will ensure activities are delivered safely by following Health & Safety, infection prevention and risk assessment procedures, while maintaining accurate activity records and adapting programmes to meet residents' changing needs. Through creativity, compassion and teamwork, you will help create a welcoming environment where every resident feels valued and included. The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

  • Previous experience in activities, care, hospitality, events, childcare or a similar role is desirable; however, candidates with transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
