Job summary

Ashgrove Care Home in Hounslow is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan and deliver engaging activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction for our residents, including those living with dementia.

You will lead group and one-to-one activities, building relationships to tailor programmes to individual interests and care needs, while contributing to a supportive, inclusive home environment.

Qualifications

• Creative, organised and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
• A genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial; transferable skills from hospitality, events, childcare or community work encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual interests and care needs.
• Build strong relationships to understand preferences and promote inclusive participation, including residents living with dementia.
• Work as part of the wider team to create a positive, stimulating environment where residents feel valued and connected.
• Receive training and support to develop in the role.

About Ashgrove Care Home

Ashgrove Care Home is a 49 bed, purpose built care home located in Hounslow, West London. Providing nursing and nursing dementia care, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment with bright, accessible living spaces, inviting lounges, dining areas and a private garden. Colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

• £13.45 to £13.95 per hour
• Bank
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.
