Job summary

Forest Lodge, operated by Bramley Health, is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan and deliver a vibrant activities programme for residents. You will work with the care team to ensure meaningful engagement and accurate record-keeping in a supportive environment.

Your role involves group sessions, one-to-one engagement, and arranging community outings while maintaining safety and person-centred care. Previous care-based activity experience and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a care environment.
  • Experience facilitating or co-facilitating groups.
  • Experience in recreational activities.
  • Commitment to promoting the needs of people with mental health problems and their carers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to form positive therapeutic relationships with service users.
  • Good IT literacy (phones/computers).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a person-centered activities programme for residents.
  • Ensure activities are fun, educational and engaging.
  • Collaborate with residents, families and staff to tailor activities to individual needs.
  • Lead group sessions and provide one-on-one engagement opportunities.
  • Foster community relationships to arrange events and outings.
  • Ensure safety and security during trips and activities.
  • Escort residents when two staff members are required for outings.

Forest Lodge is a specialist complex care home with nursing that supports up to 30 male service users and includes 24 hours nursing.

About the Activities Coordinator role

As our activities coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in planning and implementing our vibrant activities program. From group sessions to community outings, your creativity and enthusiasm will make a difference in the lives of our residents. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with our care team, maintain records, and ensure meaningful engagement for all.

Key responsibilities of the Activities Coordinator role will include:
  • Develop and implement a person-centered activities program for our residents
  • Ensure programmes include activities that are fun, educational and engaging
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and staff to tailor activities to individual needs
  • Lead group sessions and provide one‑on‑one engagement opportunities
  • Foster community relationships to arrange special events and outings
  • Ensure safety and security during community trips and activities
  • To act as an escort in conjunction with another member of staff, for patients who require two escorts when going out in the community (considered as the second staff member during these occasions)
About you
Experience and skillset:
  • Experience of working in a care environment
  • Experience facilitating or co‑facilitating groups
  • Experience in recreational activities
  • Commitment to promoting the needs of people with mental health problems and their carers
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to form positive therapeutic relationships with service users
  • Great understanding of IT (capable with computers / phones etc.)
Qualifications and certifications
  • Good secondary education to GCSE level
  • (Desirable) NVQ trained to either level 2 or 3
