Job description

Activities Co-ordinator at HC-One

At HC-One, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. It influences our approach to caring for residents in our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. We believe every resident has their own story, and by joining us, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact on their lives.

As an Activities Co-ordinator, your role will involve planning and implementing engaging activities that delight our residents. You'll assist the Home Manager in organizing essential fundraising events. Whether you're encouraging residents to socialize more confidently, developing new activity ideas based on their hobbies, or involving the care team, your work will be guided by kindness and compassion.

We are looking for someone with experience working with vulnerable individuals, ideally in developing activity programmes. Your positive energy, ability to connect with people, and excellent planning, organizational, and IT skills are essential. You should manage your time effectively and communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should feel comfortable seeking advice and reporting concerns, including escalation if necessary.

We offer full training, providing you with an excellent opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you'll enjoy a wide range of benefits to support your well-being and career development, including:

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications
  • Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG check
  • Free uniform
  • A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
  • Company pension scheme
  • 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays
  • Group life assurance
  • Wagestream for financial wellbeing and flexible pay access
  • Recognition and development programs, including qualifications
  • Access to GP online services for you and your children under 16
  • Learning from experienced colleagues within a supportive team
  • Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores
  • Confidential Employee Assistance Programme for physical, mental, and financial support
  • Recognition schemes such as 'Kindness in Care' and Long Service Awards
  • Referral bonus scheme up to £1000 per successful hire

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and aim for a swift onboarding process.
