Job Title: Activities Assistant

Location: Wirral

Salary: Up to £11.50 per hour

Job Description:

As Activities Assistant, you will schedule and coordinate events, handle logistics for daily, weekly, and monthly activities to engage residents. You will gather feedback, manage employees, volunteers, and resources, ensuring fun, safe events that are on time and within budget. The role requires attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and time management skills.

You should aim to create entertaining, engaging activities suitable for residents' age and physical or emotional conditions. The ideal candidate is observant, driven, creative, and caring.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Maintain current skills through ongoing training and development.
  • Collaborate with marketing to produce newsletters informing residents and their families of upcoming events.
  • Support residents in accessing the internet and communication tools like letter writing, Skype, and FaceTime.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of residents.
  • Develop effective relationships with colleagues, residents, relatives, and friends, working with multidisciplinary teams to maximize residents’ opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively within teams, with residents and families, accommodating alternative communication needs.
  • Build rapport with residents by establishing personal connections and showing interest in their lives.
  • Greet visitors and show prospective residents and families around the facilities.
  • Induct and orient new employees to their roles and the service.
  • Complete mandatory and statutory training as required.
  • Seek personal and professional growth opportunities.
