Overview

ABOUT THE ROLE: As an Activities Assistant at a Barchester care home, you'll deliver imaginative, fun and varied activities to ensure residents have an environment that is motivational and fulfilling. You will help deliver an entertainment and activities programme covering a wide range of pastimes, social activities, outings and events, helping each resident to live as independently as possible and to stay connected with family, friends and the local community.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver imaginative, fun and varied activities as part of an entertainment and activities programme.
  • Support residents to pursue the interests they most enjoy and engage them in social activities, outings and events.
  • Help residents live as independently as possible and enhance their involvement with family, friends and the local community.
Qualifications
  • No specific experience required to join as an Activities Assistant.
  • Strong sense of fun, creativity and the ability to encourage and motivate others.
  • Genuine interest in the people supported and empathetic, enthusiastic approach to helping residents live their lives to the full.
  • Willingness to develop skills further through available courses to build confidence in all aspects of the role.
