Job summary

A community support charity is looking for a dedicated individual to engage with stroke survivors and their carers in Hindley. The role involves facilitating activities, collaborating with partner organizations to improve service provision, and supporting effective operation through training volunteers. Candidates should ideally possess NVQ level 3 or equivalent and have strong communication, IT, and project facilitation skills. Job description

The aim of this role is to engage with stroke survivors and their carers to provide a robust programme of activities and events supporting the recovery and wellbeing of all service users.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate weekly activities for stroke survivors and their carers.
  • Work in collaboration with service users and other partner organisations to identify gaps in activity / event provision.
  • Provide support to our Working Groups to develop, arrange and deliver a robust and varied programme of activities.
  • Ensure sufficient volunteers / tutors are recruited and trained to develop our day-to-day activities.
  • Design and produce a monthly newsletter for all our service users.
  • Produce monthly written report of activity and events and other significant information for submission to line manager and project lead.
  • Evaluate, record and collate information for monitoring purposes to meet demanding engagement targets.
  • Organise and attend social / promotional / fundraising events working in partnership with any other relevant agencies.
  • Support with referrals into Think Ahead and assist stroke survivors, their carers and families to access appropriate services.
  • Provide up-to-date social media content.
  • Develop an excellent understanding of Think Ahead and its core values and be able to represent the organisation in various settings.
  • Attend all necessary training offered by Think Ahead or other partner agencies.

Must be educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent or demonstrate previous experience working at this level.
