  • Title: Activities and Dementia Coordinator
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Salary: £27,343 per annum (pro rata)
  • Hours: Part time, 19 hours/week
  • Pattern: Flexible hours
  • Location: Esther Randall, Camden

Role Purpose

You will support people with Dementia, helping maintain independence and well-being, and facilitate engaging activities. You will also recruit and support volunteers, ensuring a vibrant community, and work to exceed care standards including CQC compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Create engagement and activity plans tailored to individuals’ needs and aspirations.
  2. Maintain a caseload of customers affected by dementia.
  3. Deliver Dementia Friends awareness sessions.
  4. Ensure care plans meet best practices and customer aspirations.
  5. Support families, friends, and staff as a resource.
  6. Research, fundraise, and deliver activity programs.
  7. Manage records of activities and conduct risk assessments.
  8. Evaluate projects for value and effectiveness.
  9. Engage families and professionals in service delivery.
  10. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and befrienders.
  11. Ensure compliance with ARCO and CQC standards.
  12. Promote the scheme and community engagement activities.
  13. Build positive relationships with contractors and community groups.
  14. Provide strategic advice to management.
  15. Work 5 days over 7, including occasional nights.
Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience and enthusiasm for dementia care.
  • Knowledge of dementia support and care standards.
  • Ability to drive a mini bus.
  • Willingness to become a Dementia Friends Champion.
  • Organized, motivated, and able to lead and influence.
  • Excellent planning and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Relevant social care qualification (e.g., NVQ 3, QCF in Dementia).
  • Experience with enrichment programs, hospitality, or financial aspects of older people’s care.
