Job summary

Walk Wheel Cycle Trust in Belfast is seeking a Project Officer to deliver the Active School Travel programme across Belfast, Lisburn and Newtownards. The role focuses on practical walking, wheeling and cycling activities to influence travel habits for children and families, with flexible working and part-time hours.

The candidate will engage schools, promote health and environmental benefits, and support safe, inclusive travel options for pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering active travel programmes.
• Knowledge of behaviour change theories and tools.
• Experience engaging with schools and youth.
• Experience leading group workshops and presenting to diverse audiences.
• Commitment to safety and wellbeing of children and participants.

Responsibilities

• Deliver walking, wheeling and cycling activities for pupils.
• Build relationships with school champions, teachers and parents to support active travel.
• Champion the benefits of walking, wheeling and cycling for health, safety and the environment.
• Lead engaging sessions and promote inclusive participation for all pupils.
