Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Braintree for a fixed-term 12-month, part-time contract. You will cover a rotating shift pattern, delivering letters and parcels and working outdoors to serve the local community.

You’ll join a team with full training, a uniform, and a reliable van, and you will be required to work Sundays at the Same Delivery Office on a rolling rota.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points)
• Ability to pass driving assessment
• Physically fit to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
• Build relationships with customers
• Work outdoors in all,weathers
• Deliver more than just mail (e.g., exam results, cards, business orders)
