Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Paisley is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will deliver letters and parcels in Paisley, join a trusted postal service, and become the face of Royal Mail in your community.

The role is physically demanding and outdoors, with a 25-hour week over five days in seven, including weekends. You’ll receive full training, a uniform, a Royal Mail van, and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk long distances, stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated with strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service and able to work outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Deliver high volumes of parcels and meet time-pressured deadlines.
