Please note this position is based in London and this will be the contractual location of the successful candidate, other locations cannot be considered.
Active Equity, Infrastructure Equity Associate Director
This is a great job for someone who has infrastructure and energy M&A experience which will likely have been gained at a leading investment banking, boutique advisor or possibly, another equity investor with demonstrable ‘live deal’ experience.
A bit about the job:
As Associate Director, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping and executing bespoke equity investments in sustainable infrastructure and climate transition across Europe. You’ll drive the team’s growth agenda, leading from the front with sharp execution, strategic insight, and hands-on mentorship. Your day-to-day? Owning the deal process: from screening and due diligence to financial modelling, valuation, and crafting compelling investment cases. You’ll steer workflows, engage stakeholders, and ensure delivery that’s both timely and aligned with investment goals.
You’ll also partner with Directors on origination and market engagement, contribute to sector research, and build a strong network of partners and targets. Post-investment, you’ll collaborate with asset managers and boards to monitor performance and unlock value. Above all, you’ll be a role model, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture and guiding junior team members to grow and thrive.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Commercially savvy with advanced financial modelling and analytical skills; thrives on solving complex problems with precision.
Proven execution across the full investment lifecycle—research, analysis, structuring, negotiation, and due diligence (commercial, financial, legal, technical).
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to absorb and interpret complex data during due diligence.
Fluency in a second European language is a plus.
Strong planner with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and stay focused on what matters most.
What you’ll get for this role:
Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in
Eligibility for annual performance bonus
Family friendly parental and carer’s leave
Generous holiday entitlement plus bank holidays with the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days
Up to 40% discount for Aviva products
Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars
Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme
21 volunteering hours per year
In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
