A local government authority in Scotland is seeking a temporary full-time educational leader to manage and lead an educational establishment, ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting community benefits. The post offers a salary of £68,892 per annum and is based at St Sophia's Primary School in Galston. Applications are encouraged from underrepresented groups as part of our commitment to diversity.
Manage and lead the educational establishment/s to the benefit of the children and wider community in compliance with relevant legislation and policy and guidance issued by the Scottish Government and East Ayrshire Council in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement, Children and Young Person’s Service Plan and Best Value.
We follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. With regards to requests for references and in line with this guidance, during your application process you should provide details of a minimum of two appropriate and relevant references, one of which should be from your current or most recent employer. It is also a requirement that the reference from your current or most recent employer is from an appropriate senior manager and it is not a reference from a former peer operating at the same level.
This is a temporary full time post based within St Sophia's Primary School, Galston. The post is also available to relevant staff seeking a secondment opportunity.
The post is temporary until 6 February 2026.
The hours of work are 35 hours per week to be worked Monday - Friday at the direction of the line manager.
The full time salary of the post is £68,892 per annum.
