Job Description:

Actemium, part of Vinci Energies, is an international Electrical Services organization with a global turnover of €2.8 billion, based in over 40 countries.

Actemium Rail is looking to recruit a Project Manager to support our ongoing rail sector growth plan. We are experiencing an increase in project awards for HS2 and Network Rail new builds, alongside infrastructure enhancements, necessitating a strengthened in-house rail team.

The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the project from initial marketing, through quotation, negotiation, realization, costs, invoicing, to final acceptance and receipt, from conception to completion.

The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Key objectives

  • Identify projects and tenders, and be responsible for tenders until successful receipt of orders.
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects to scope, cost, quality, schedule, and completion, covering design, engineering, construction, handover, and commercial aspects.
  • Implement comprehensive risk and value engineering management processes.
  • Communicate project imperatives clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Manage safety, health, environment, and quality matters on-site when required.
  • Develop solutions for site issues and customer restrictions.

Principal responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Take overall responsibility for project financial performance, deadlines, and technical quality.
  • Manage projects, liaising with site supervisors during installation.
  • Outline project cost estimates and report to management.
  • Organize bid and contract reviews, monitor contract changes.
  • Verify sales orders and ensure proper project accounting and forecasting.
  • Manage procurement and purchasing for projects.
  • Handle technical aspects of projects and contribute to budget and strategic planning.
  • Address customer complaints and nonconformities.

Additional responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain key customer relationships.
  • Deliver quality installations and promote service excellence.
  • Review supplier performance and project plans, including safety and environmental plans.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth.

Qualifications and training

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • JIB Supervisor/Contractors status or equivalent.
  • Personal Track Safety accreditation (desirable).
  • Experience in UK rail environment.
  • SMSTS accreditation, ECS Gold card or higher, NEC contracts knowledge.

Technical skills and experience

  • Experience in Low Voltage & Data Network design in industrial environments.
  • Site survey experience and contract management within construction projects.
  • Understanding of commercial issues, customer communication, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of Network Rail Standards, GRIP stages, and related responsibilities.
