Actemium Instrumentation, Control and Switchgear is looking for a Wire Person to join our team in Staverton, Gloucester. The role involves working closely with manufacturing and engineering discipline engineers.

The Role

The successful candidate will manufacture and test bespoke control panels, starting from empty enclosures, selecting components, layouts, and wiring according to electrical drawings and instructions. The work requires safety, accuracy, and efficiency within tight deadlines.

• Build and wire control panels following electrical drawings and instructions within specified timescales.
• Perform pre-delivery inspection and testing on finished control panels on the shop floor and at customer premises, adhering to standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain safe working practices and quality control procedures at all times.

The Person

• Previous panel wiring and building experience essential. Knowledge of LV Switchgear, motor control principles, and control panel design is desirable.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings and technical instructions.
• Positive attitude with good attention to detail.
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team efficiently and effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Willingness to work extended and/or unsocial hours as required.
