About The Role

We are looking to recruit an EV Charging Maintenance Electrician to join our expanding Electric Vehicle charging business unit. The role involves maintaining electric vehicle charging infrastructure across various sites in the UK. The ideal candidate will have previous EV charging maintenance experience and be comfortable traveling to different sites daily. Some overnight stays may be required, but most nights will be spent at home.

You will be field-based, visiting client sites to maintain EV charging equipment (primarily DC chargers), delivering excellent customer service by ensuring work is done safely and tidily, and providing clear explanations to customers about the work performed.

Main Responsibilities

• Commission, maintain, and repair EV chargers from 7kW to 400kW.
• Work with multiple charger brands (full training provided).
• Manage your own daily workload independently.
• Travel and stay away from home approximately once per week (twice if local work is unavailable).
• Communicate effectively with clients and team via Teams and other platforms.

The Person

• Hold a Gold Card – fully qualified electrician.
• Experience with EV charging installation or maintenance is highly advantageous.
• Willing to stay away from home a few nights per month.
• Knowledge of 18th edition wiring regulations.
• Willing to drive up to 200 miles/day in an electric vehicle (vehicle provided).
• Ideally, able to charge your vehicle at home (mileage and travel time mostly covered).
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
• Proficient with IT tools: Teams, FSM software, and charger manufacturer portals.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible and able to work outdoors in various conditions.
• Electricians based in the Reading area are encouraged to apply, though the workload can cover other regions.
