Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have CE&I experience within the Nuclear sector.

The Role:

1. Execute strategic objectives of Senior Engineering Managers and the company.
2. Capture key learnings during project execution to improve future engineering delivery.
3. Line management of direct reports, including appraisals, coaching, mentoring, disciplinary processes, and performance management.
4. Provide direction on project processes and ensure consistent communication.
5. Identify needs for sub-contracting or outsourcing specialist activities.
6. Identify skills gaps and training needs for team members.
7. Conduct or support engineering delivery audits and address shortfalls or improvements.
8. Ensure team has adequate tools, information, and standards.
9. Serve as the final technical authority in discipline-related decisions.
10. Continuously improve department operations and quality.
11. Support resource planning and minimize underutilization.
12. Plan and execute engineering and design activities within budgets and schedules.
13. Produce design quality plans and ensure adherence to quality standards.
14. Identify and request necessary resources.
15. Report on progress against work plans.
16. Ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
17. Maintain consistency in software use, protocols, and documentation.
18. Support technical information production for tenders.
19. Build relationships with customer stakeholders.
20. Monitor and mitigate technical and project risks.
21. Organize and undertake design reviews.
22. Qualifications: Degree with honours or Level 6, Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
23. Extensive knowledge of regulated industries like Nuclear.
24. Proficient in CAD/digital tools and management systems.
25. Knowledge of design codes, standards, laws, and project management practices.
26. Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
