Job summary

Actemium Automation Teesside, part of the VINCI Group, is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer based in Billingham or Worksop. You will join a collaborative, safety‑driven team delivering industrial automation projects for a global engineering leader, with a focus on reliability, digitalization and customer satisfaction.

Your day‑to‑day will include developing PLC, DCS, HMI and SCADA software (Siemens PCS 7 and Rockwell PlantPAx), producing design and test documentation, supporting site

• Experience delivering projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of PLC, DCS and SCADA/HMI platforms.
• Experience with industrial networks and on-site commissioning.

Senior Control Systems Engineer

Location: Billingham or Worksop

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week - Office based

Salary range: From £55,000 (dependent on experience)

What You’ll Do

• Actively participating in the whole life cycle of delivering projects, from start to finish.
• Fostering great relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Producing design and test documentation.
• Developing PLC, DCS, HMI and SCADA software, including platforms such as Siemens PCS 7 and Rockwell PlantPAx.
• Performing testing with customers.
• Carrying out on-site commissioning.
• Compiling training manuals and running customer training sessions.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include

• A strong understanding and experience with major brands of PLC, DCS and SCADA/HMI platforms, including Siemens PCS 7 and PlantPAx, with an appetite to learn new technologies.
• Experience writing software and working with customers to deliver projects.
• Good understanding of setting up, commissioning, and fault finding of industrial networks (Profibus, ProfiNet, Ethernet) preferred, but not essential.
• Experience working in an engineering environment.
• An appetite to be the lead engineer on projects and learn new technologies when required.
