Main Responsibilities:
Team
- Mentor and coach junior staff.
- Liaise with customers and internal design/management teams.
- Prepare and review control system design, build, testing specifications, and O&M manuals to the required standard.
- Design and test control systems in accordance with specifications, standards, and legislative requirements.
- Provide technical supervision of system design, build, and installation personnel.
- Support Project Managers with project planning and effort estimation.
- Assist in tendering activities, including cost estimation, technical proposals, and presentations.
Specialism
- Develop control system software to meet project needs.
- Support development and implementation of software standards.
- Assist in training and rolling out software standards to the team.
- Onsite commissioning and testing of control systems, adhering to site regulations.
- Review design and testing in accordance with specifications and standards.
General
- Collaborate with Project Management to ensure timely, within-budget delivery.
- Ensure all control systems meet specifications, standards, and legislative requirements.
- Follow HR policies and maintain company records.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment according to legislative and company standards.
- Follow all business procedures and perform other duties as required.
The Person:
- Qualified to HNC/HND/degree level or extensive experience in system integration.
- Ability to produce control system design documents.
- Understanding of project lifecycle and programming environments like CodeSys, Straton, Beckhoff.
- Experience with PLC-based control systems, HMI/SCADA, and programming languages such as Python, C#, Java.
- Knowledge of communication protocols like Modbus, OPC.
- Experience with machinery safety standards and onsite commissioning.
- Knowledge of industrial hardware systems and control panel design.
- Background in industrial automation, preferably in Water/Wastewater, Oil & Gas, or Manufacturing sectors.
- Experience with platforms like Beijer, Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware, and Mitsubishi.
- Familiarity with Industrial Ethernet and protocols like DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet.
