Job summary

Cobalt Recruitment is partnering with a major UK retailer to appoint a Senior Acquisitions Manager tasked with leading the acquisitions function and shaping growth across the UK.

The role combines hands-on site acquisitions with team leadership, pipeline management and strategic input, with a hybrid working pattern and significant time in the market visiting sites and meeting landlords and agents. Experience in acquisitions across multi-site occupiers is valued.

Qualifications

• Extensive acquisitions experience with strong negotiation skills.
• Commercial judgement and ability to manage multiple transactions.
• Retail or multi-site occupier experience is advantageous.

Cobalt is partnering with a major UK retailer with significant expansion plans is looking to appoint a Senior Acquisitions Manager to help lead its next phase of growth.

With approximately 40 new locations targeted each year and a substantial live pipeline, this is a high-profile role combining hands‑on acquisitions with team leadership, pipeline management and strategic input.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and develop members of the acquisitions team.
• Manage a significant pipeline of new site opportunities.
• Identify and secure locations across the UK.
• Negotiate transactions from Heads of Terms through to exchange and completion.
• Manage pipeline risk and report progress to senior leadership.
• Build relationships with landlords, developers and agents.
• Work closely with construction, development, estates and operations.
• Personally progress acquisitions while overseeing the wider programme.

We are looking for an experienced acquisitions professional with strong negotiation skills, commercial judgement and the ability to manage multiple transactions at pace. Retail experience would be beneficial but isn't essential. Candidates from leisure and other multi‑site occupier environments will also be considered.

Based in the North West, the role offers hybrid working alongside significant time in the market visiting sites and meeting landlords and agents. An excellent opportunity to take a senior position within a growing property team where acquisitions are central to the wider business strategy.
