About the job

We are expanding our outpatient pharmacy team and are seeking an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) interested in hospital specialties, especially cancer care, at the UK’s fourth largest cancer centre.

This role is suitable for newly qualified ACPTs and experienced technicians seeking a sector change from community or hospital pharmacy practice.

The position is for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with no weekend, late-night, or Bank Holiday shifts. The salary is approximately £33,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include effective patient and colleague communication, dispensing, safety checks, patient counselling, training, project work, and contributing to medicines optimisation and team leadership.

Main responsibilities

As an ACPT, you will:

Additional duties include pharmacy leadership, recruitment support, dispensing, final checks, patient advice, and stock management.
