Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking an Accuracy Checking Technician to join the pharmacy team responsible for the Leedale Dispensary. The role focuses on final checks of dispensed prescriptions across HDP, H&S and veterinary dispensing, including Bridge files before submission to the VBM or free service.

You will deputise for the pharmacist, supervise checking activities, ensure legal compliance, and help ACA colleagues develop their checking skills within a community pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

• Accuracy check dispensed and clinically checked prescriptions (HDP, H&S, vet).
• Check exported Bridge files against prescriptions before sending to VBM/free service.
• Validate errors highlighted by VBM and make correct alterations.
• Validate completed MDS trays.
• Check vet prescriptions for legal requirements and approve P-med sales per protocol.
• Follow dispensary SOPs and processes.
• Oversee Leedale Dispensary operations and deputise for the pharmacist within legal boundaries.
• Support ACA colleagues to develop checking skills.

Job description

Accuracy Checking Technician post in the pharmacy team of a family-owned community pharmacy business, with responsibility for the Leedale Dispensary. The work centres on final checks of dispensed prescriptions for HDP, H&S and vet dispensing, including exported Bridge files before they go to the VBM or free service. The role also covers validating MDS trays, deputising for the pharmacist in running the dispensary and supporting accuracy checking colleagues. Entry requires GPhC registration as a pharmacy technician.

• Maintain high personal and work standards
• Oversee the running of the Leedale Dispensary, deputising for the pharmacist within legal boundaries
• Support ACA colleagues to develop their checking skills in all areas

Registration & licences

• Registration as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Nice to have

• Previous experience as an Accuracy Checking Technician in a community, hospital or other pharmacy setting
