Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a fully qualified clinical vascular technologist to undertake, interpret and report ultrasound scans and related tests for vascular conditions. The post supports autonomous practice with senior staff backing, and includes responsibilities in department management and teaching within the vascular service.

The role also involves running vascular ultrasound clinics at other trusts, with responsibility for these clinics when required,

Responsibilities

• Undertake, interpret and report ultrasound scans and other tests for vascular conditions as a fully qualified clinical vascular technologist.
• Operate autonomously with support from senior staff within the service.
• Contribute to day-to-day management within the department and undertake specific duties as required.
• Run vascular ultrasound clinics at other trusts and assume responsibility for these clinics when needed.
• Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and audit projects within the department.
• Contribute to the teaching and training of junior and trainee vascular scientists.

Job description

To undertake, interpret and report ultrasound scans and other tests for vascular conditions, working at the level of a fully qualified clinical vascular technologist. They will operate autonomously with the support of senior staff within the service. To undertake specific roles in the day-to-day management of the department and will have specific duties within the service for which they will be expected to be responsible. To run vascular ultrasound clinics in other trusts and to assume responsibility for these where required. Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and audit projects within the department Contribute to the teaching and training of junior and trainee vascular scientists.
