  • Accurately code complex and multi-specialty inpatient episodes, including long-stay patients and high-cost drug cases.
  • Identify and flag documentation issues or ambiguous clinical content to the clinicians as appropriate.
  • Ensure coding output supports PbR, SUS reporting, clinical audit, and national data requirements.

Data Quality and Performance

  • Achieve and maintain the required accuracy and productivity targets as determined by the Trust and external audit requirements.
  • Conduct data validation and quality assurance checks on own coding output.
  • Participate in clinical coding audits and address any coding discrepancies identified through internal or external reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes to coding classifications, standards, grouping logic, and tariff implications.

Team Contribution and Professional Development

  • Participate in team meetings, CPD activities, and internal training sessions.
  • Maintain NCCQ/ACC status through annual CPD and participation in professional development opportunities.
