About UK & Ireland 2028 Limited

UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is the local organising committee responsible for delivering UEFA EURO 2028 across the UK & Ireland. We work on behalf of the five Football Associations and in partnership with governments, host cities, stadiums and delivery partners to plan and deliver the tournament safely, inclusively and to world‑class standards.

About UEFA EURO 2028

UEFA EURO is one of the world’s largest sporting events. In 2028, it will be hosted across multiple cities in the UK & Ireland, requiring large‑scale coordination across transport, infrastructure, stadiums and public services. UEFA owns the tournament and sets requirements; UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is responsible for delivering it locally.

The Role

This role supports the successful delivery of the UK&I 2028 Tournament by ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and execution of accreditation operations. The role contributes through a collaborative, service‑oriented, and detail‑focused approach, while consistently demonstrating our organisational values: Embrace the Opportunity, Achieve Excellence, and Thrive Together.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of accreditation operations across all venues, ensuring services are delivered consistently, meet operational requirements and in line with agreed timelines.
  • Lead the implementation and management of background screening according to the agreed parameters and service levels with the local authorities.
  • Build, engage and support the Accreditation Operations team, starting with the hiring of the two direct reports in 2027 and then the venue‑based team in 2028. Ensuring they perform at their best in a high‑pressure delivery environment.
  • Manage and support the Accreditation Operations team, setting clear objectives, providing guidance, resolving operational challenges and fostering a high‑performing and inclusive team culture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, venue stakeholders, security partners, and external suppliers to support effective programme delivery.
  • Track operational performance, identify opportunities for process improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, compliance, and stakeholder experience.
  • Adapt to changing organisational and event needs, taking on additional responsibilities as required to support the successful delivery of the accreditation programme.
  • Prioritise and coordinate day‑to‑day activities across accreditation and background screening operations to ensure all deliverables are completed to a high professional standard.
What we’re looking for
  • Exposure to working in Accreditation; experience leading operational functions, programmes, or workstreams within large-scale events, security, public sector, or similarly complex environments.
  • Experience managing and developing teams to deliver high‑quality operational outcomes.
  • Knowledge of accreditation, credentialing or related operational processes.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of data protection, confidentiality, compliance, and information security requirements.
  • Experience delivering operational services.
Technical Skills
  • Strong operational planning, coordination, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to analyse data, produce reports, and use insights to support decision‑making.
  • Experience using operational database systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving, risk management, and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
How you’ll succeed
  • Adaptable – leads in complex environments.
  • Catalyst – enables and motivates others.
  • Critical Thinker – makes sound decisions.
  • Inclusion – creates inclusive team environments.
  • Performance Focus – drives results and standards.
