We are recruiting for a part-time Accounts Senior to join a fantastic chartered accountancy practice in Sandwich, Kent. This firm is currently experiencing growth and offers excellent future progression prospects. The role will be hands-on and client-facing.

As a part-time Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Finalising paperwork for dispatch to clients and HMRC, ensuring deadlines are met with high quality.
  • Interpreting tax returns and financial accounts to facilitate effective tax planning.
  • Liaising proactively with clients to obtain relevant information, with attention to detail.
  • Monitoring your own job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets, meeting and exceeding targets where possible.
  • Recording chargeable time to ensure maximum recovery.
  • Supporting trainees through on-the-job coaching.
  • Handling bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, supplier management, and management accounts as required.
  • Preparing client tax returns and advising on tax payable and payment dates.
  • Assisting clients with accounts software and other bookkeeping queries.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants should have the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified (exceptional finalists may be considered) with at least three years’ accounts experience within practice.
  • Preferably have agricultural accounting knowledge or a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to prepare client accounts, tax, PAYE, or VAT efficiently.
  • IT literate, preferably with knowledge of Iris, Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Resilient, energetic, and analytical with a keen attention to detail.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Salary range of £30,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience and background, negotiable.
  • Flexible part-time hours.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus 8 days for bank holidays.
