Overview:

A respected and forward-thinking accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Senior to support the delivery of high-quality accounting and tax services. This role offers a mix of client interaction, technical preparation, and internal team development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing annual accounts, personal and partnership tax returns, and business tax computations. You will also play a key role in training clients on accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks), mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the growth and efficiency of the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare annual accounts, business tax computations, and corporate tax returns

  • Complete partnership and personal tax returns within deadlines

  • Liaise with clients to resolve queries and support compliance

  • Deliver training to clients on accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)

  • Maintain relevant software accreditations

  • Use and maintain electronic workflow tools and internal practice management systems

  • Support and review work prepared by junior team members

  • Actively contribute to team development and internal process improvement

  • Help promote the firm and support client acquisition when opportunities arise

Qualifications & Skills:
  • AAT/ATT qualified, or equivalent experience (approx. 5 years in practice)

  • Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge

  • Excellent communication and listening skills

  • Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple deadlines

  • Confident using cloud-based software and supporting others in its use
