Job summary

Si Recruitment is seeking an ambitious accounting professional to prepare year-end accounts for diverse clients, including sole traders and limited companies. You will assist with tax computations, VAT returns, and management accounts while building strong client relationships.

The role offers exposure to audit tasks and ongoing training within a supportive practice environment, with a focus on professional development and career progression.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified or studying towards ACA or ACCA.
• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Good working knowledge of cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero.
• Confident preparing accounts for a range of business clients.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Self‑motivated, reliable and keen to continue learning within a supportive practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for a wide range of businesses, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Assist with the preparation of corporation tax computations, personal tax work and VAT returns.
• Support the delivery of management accounts and other financial reporting where required.
• Build positive working relationships with clients, providing a professional and responsive service.
• Work closely with senior members of the team to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Assist with audit assignments where required, gaining valuable exposure to the audit process.
• Help review and maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with current accounting standards.
• Support junior colleagues where appropriate and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Continue developing technical knowledge through ongoing training and professional study.
